In SANDUSKY....

Sun is glaring...sky is so blue....well...it doesnt really look different from our hometown...haha..except..iz day here but nite in malaysia!!! V R IN AMERICA GUYS!!

V juz enjoy pizzas buffet!!! East Chicago Pizza guys!! It cost about like $5.94 per person...ofcoz..with our cedar point employer card 20% discount..YEAY!!!! Iz tempting and had alot of variety.....will upload the photos later..since the photos still fresh kept inside the camera...----(choon wah)

Ok..talk bout da living environment here...matt and choon wah check in to the apartment and wen yi and me check in to the common dorm...n i got a 'gelap' roomate from NY!! Sounds cool? ( if the powder with WEIRDDDD smell did not spread everywher..such as on your bed...or you din found out one of your towel appear on her head)...hhahaha.....well...sometimes it juz happend...other than that..i found out this is quite a cool place..lots of greenary...fresh air( with alot of cotton flying around)...and also..the sunset here is bout 9.30pm here..so i m experiencing a bit confusion of time which their 8 pm look only like 5pm in our country...since the day iz longer than night compare to malaysia...guess the work time iz extended also...:)

Last thing to inform our all architecture friends...v are living a fully 8 sleep hour per day temporarily now(maybe) haha....so wish u all luck...

DAYS IN SANDUSKY

second day in sandusky,
- to the human resoures center, doing all the document thingy and going in cedarpoint for our first time
- went to wallmart, sundusky mall , target
- went bact to the hostel around 5pm and ..... SLEEP..

matt went back to the room at 7.30pm
wenyi slept at 9pm
joey and me slept at 10.30pm

yeah.. the day just ended like that..

it sound brief but many things happen in the day.
tons of unexpected incident happen
more like a culture shock

- welll... the most surprising culture shock i think is the car will actually stop or us when v crossing our road . AND all of us was like using it as an advantages and crossing the road as if matt's grand dad own it.
and the road and driver seat is all terbalik and we keep on looking at the wrong side of the road. lucky we the drivers here stop for us while we cross the road.

- we went to mc donald and there is variety of food compare to the malaysia's mc donald, and everyone need to clean the tray b4 they leave. ( yeah we actualy did tht too, malaysia culture stand no change in here)

- strangers come up to us and talk to us unexpectedly. well of course we acted as if it is normal get in to play as well. yeah it never happen in malaysia .

-yeah cleveland is fill with orang tua .. everywhere we went, we will saw orang tua. i think all the youngster is actually from the cedar point.

and and and ... the mall .. unlike malaysia everything is in a mall .. for example mid valley, food clinic, supermarket and other stall is in the mall.
but here .. the supermarket is at one end of the road while the restourant is located at the other end of the road and the bank is far end of another place. so walking to each place took lots of time. that is why people here have car and they travel everywhere with cars. and mall here only have single floor(we actually did try to find escalator to the first floor, yeah it sound stupid)

so thats all for these few day of experience

we're here!! (after a really REALLY long flight, imagine seeing day-night and day back again!! )

reached cleveland airport bout 9.30pm from our chicago transit. was clueless on how to get to sandusky from cleveland when a good samaritan at the airport set us up with a colombian guy and gave us a really good taxi rate. after waiting for abour 45minutes we got into the taxi and off we went!!

after an hour or so we reached sandusky, at our hostel (its called commons here).

our first impressions

choonwah's : "it looks like some penjara"
wenyi's : "gelaps and putihs everywhere ah?"(yeah, that what we call them.BM is officially our secret language)
joey's : "its freezing cold"
i think i better not post up what i felt! hahaha...
dont get me wrong cuz the place wasnt that bad!

it wasnt until we checked in.
we couldnt choose our rooms so..

ALL FOUR OF US ARE LEFT WITH SEPARATE ROOMS LIVING WITH STRANGERS!!

got our keys and we went our separate ways....(well for the night at least)

oh and btw choonwah here is known as C.W. (we're all laughing our asses off right now cuz we're picturing THIS!!)

So from Singapore we hung out for 8 hours until our next flight which is Singapore->Tokyo (6 hours)
The narita airport is freakin clean and we've tried sushi from Japan! yeay!

All the videos are so embarassing!

Transit in Tokyo was like 2 hours...and the next flight was to Tokyo->Chicago which is a GRUESOME 11 hour flight.
and the messed up time zone!
Picture this - you leave Tokyo on the 27th, 4pm...then you arrive Chicago at 27th, 4pm. -__-||

And finally it was an hour flight from Chicago to Cleveland.
If you noticed the videos, our excitement from KLIA was dying till we didn't wanna do it anymore in Cleveland.

Oh yea..after Cleveland its an hour (or more) car ride to Sandusky.
kk..lemme simplified it for you in Malaysian time. We left KL on the 26th at 9.45pm and officially arrive in Sandusky on the 28th at 11am. So imagine the jet lag.

it is 25th april, and having 2 submissions and 1 exam yesterday, I was exhausted and feeling overwork due to the stress and work load, ( yeah, I was not sleeping on my own bed for the previous few days, due to sleeping on the bed always resulting me over slept ). When I reach home, after all the regular routine, I slept at 10pm, on the bed, light off, AND… (That is the main point I m writing this post.)

I have a weird dream. I dream that I m already at America, and fell like already there for a month or so. I cant remember most part of the dream, I just remember wenyi , joey and matt is sitting on a bus to work or something.

The weird part is I waking up in the morning, thought that I m already at America, and I m not shock that I already in America. I look around thinking of where this place is and what time it is. It is kinda funny, bcus I can’t remember anything about the night before I slept. ALL I REMENBER IS SOME PART OF THE DREAM. Maybe I been sleeping too long or not enough sleep due to the overwork week I have. So, after only about half a minute, only I realize I m at my home and I remember the exam is coming in a few days. Yeah…is like back to the reality, back to the shitty work.

I m actually not the one that really can’t wait to go among the us, in fact I m the one who worry the most, but I don know why I always having these weird dream and is always seem to look real.

yeah... I just saw the COUNTDOWN METER ,, is just 31 days to our trip or I called it ‘our 21ST RESOLUTION'. ( hahahah...its cheesy… I know ).Personally I m not feeling it yet, but time passes day by day and the big day is coming. So I just have to wait and see.

Imma continue from where I left off since I have a LITTLE time left before the semester finale.

So it was 6 hours till the job interview right? (this is like 2 months ago)
Yah our job interview went well..it happened in a group..

Choon Wah's question: Tell me about your best friend.
Matt's question: ~~oh shit I forgot......update this later)~~ How did you spend your Christmas?
Joey's question: Tell me about the best theme park you've visited
Me's question: Tell me about your siblings

there were about 10 or 11 of us..
and the four of us got a position as food hosts.. (we chose Cedar Point btw.)

Then it was the visa interview. Nerve wrecking but we all got it..woot! The interview's actually at the counter. We were all picturing a dark room with only a table and 2 chairs with the interrogation lamp..

I just realize we actually went through 4 interviews for this trip!
1. with the agent (OOTB)
2. with school's lecturer for our english ability
3. job interview
4. visa interview

Anyway anyway...
We got almost everything covered..oh yea we went for orientation too..
Only thing to do now is pay for our flight tickets =D
Will be leaving end of May...
Next week's kinda study break..
Next next week's exam...
Next next next week's design review
Next next next next week's for us to clear whatever crap and start packing!
and NEXT NEXT NEXT NEXT NEXT week, WE ARE GONE! =D

it's me again! i think i'm blogging too much here...oh well..

So here are some photos!
on the 9th of Jan, all 4 of us went to Youth09' in PWTC coz OutOfTheBox (the agency) is setting up a booth there so yeap, we decided to go talk to them.

And we all got through! yeay!

For weeks, we went through hell..we had to make BIG decisions..especially with

1. picking our jobs..it was the biggest decision we had to make in our lives..
2. the all of the sudden "my parents flipped" situations (and I swear all of their parents flipped except for mine. which is very surprising)
3. the many breakdowns

At SO many points, we actually thought that this wasn't going to happen.

It was more critical when we had to fill in the forms and our resumes.
It was so hard to decide that we decided to write it all down on ~~paper~~ the wall..

See! This was how serious we were...we were screaming and shouting and jumping with all the debating..lol

If I were to type out EVERYTHING we went through, it will never end.
but basically here's the summary of our job decisions we went through the few weeks..

Morey's Piers --> Cedar Point --> Hard Rock Cafe --> Morey's Piers --> Hard Rock Cafe --> Cedar Point

Now, it's 6 hours until our interview with our employer..and once we sign the agreement, THAT'S IT. WE'RE IN. NO BACKING OUT.

BUT...
1. joey still haven't got the bright green light from her dad. she's gonna have to call him in the morning
2. choon wah is having a breakdown

Will tell more when everything is finalized k..which is tomorrow..

MIRACLE happened!!

Can u believe it!!

haha....v have been goin through alot of hardness..parental approval..especially me...haha...it just so hard..to bugging your parents which keep on call and call and call to tell you heart breaking decision..haha..but i suceed!! I mean for now..at least...haha...however, v still proceeding on our plan, which iz now already submitted da choice of job and place...cooollll...but there iz a twist here...

V were so eager to join cedar point for da 1st time..can u believe it..now it became the 3rd favourite choice after v have da "which one is better"brain storm discussion in my house...hahaha..all of us were eager to join the hardrock cafe which offer the BEST condition..BUT the hardrock cafe only need 30 people so v actually gave up because of the "7 star issue" which is da whole group unable to work 2gether idea bother us...so v choose morey's point instead...haha...now there is a twist again..haha...so dramatic right..

V receive some latest information now..which is..........morey's point only need 10 ppl from malaysia....i was like..omg...BUT....hardrock cafe need 40 ppl...only from Malaysia and Russia...

OMG!!!! This is big!!! after all v debate and do all the thinking and comparation...it goes back to the way v wanted the most...o god...THIS IS MIRACLE!!!...believe it or not..i believe the luck iz with us...may the luck stay with us till the end....AMEN!!!

well guys, here are the updates that i've promised from my first post.
updates:-we did call up the agent, and,
-we did do an impromtu interview with them...all four of us
we have pictures of us signing up and going through the interview but i think ill leave wenyi to do that post later on. hahaha. jakunness!! anyways, if you think that planning all THIS was an easy job...well think again cuz its NOT! there are so many things that we have to look through and think about before we even take the next step. plus, going in a group makes it even harder as planning and waiting for each others decisions would take up a heck of a lot more time... and just 9 days after my first post, the things that we have to go through was....well, i dont even have a word to complete that sentence. these are the breakdowns on what went on:
-fanson DID NOT get a green light from his parents and is not following us
-we discussed with one of the heads of our school bout our semesters-to-come
-there was a point when all of us thought that this was not gonna happen
-the endless talks with our parents
-the financial issues dealing with our loans
-and, joey IS STILL trying to convince her parents
thats just a fraction of what happen.. we still have a whole long list of things-to-do and think about like our job selection, accomodation at the US, the nett profit of our earnings (cuz some of us are using our study loan money and if we dont get it back??). the list goes on and on...

I have a bad feeling about this.

So many 'WHAT IF's are coming into the picture.

What if Joey can't convince her parents?
What if Choon Wah's dad forbids him to go?
What if the school does not allow us to defer?
What if we can't afford the programme fee?
What if.... WE HAVE TO CALL IT OFF?!

oh.my.gawd. I can't even imagine how the rest of my studying years will be if this doesn't happen.

6 months later......v r staying at US stuffing urself with the largest pizza available in New York, working in Disneyland theme park which i will definitely assume myself getting luckiest job in the world( FREE ENTRANCE)...getting wet near Niagara fall....visiting to my favourite novel TWILIGHT background sites...hahaha...omg...i am so getting hype while this things will only happens MAYBE 6 months later...haha

when i heard bout something big was goin on around urselves, wow...this is really big! haha...big enough when v decide to leave one sem and go to US!! this went crazy when most of us got GREEN LIGHT!!!( resembles to the parents approval) HAHA.....n v r getting to details n to action!!!
